The Albany Marching Falcons continue their efforts to raise money toward their upcoming trip to France to participate in events marking the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
You can support them through a direct donation or by attending one of these upcoming fundraisers.
- Sunday, March 31, 3-6 p.m. – Spaghetti dinner, American Legion Post 1610, 35 North First St. $10 includes dinner, salad and bread.
- Wednesday, April 3, 5:30-7:30 p.m. – Silent auction at Glennpeter Jewelers, 1544 Central Ave., Colonie. No charge; plenty of great prizes and gift baskets to bid on.
- Saturday, April 6, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. – Indoor yard sale at Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School, 100 Elbel Court. Questions? Email Wendy Diefendorf at Wdiefendorf@gmail.com
- Friday, April 12, 7-9 p.m. – Funny You Should Say That: an evening with “Comedium” Brandon Russ, Albany School of Humanities (ASH), 108 Whitehall Road. Tickets $25 each, and doors open at 6 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 23, 5:30-9 p.m. – Blaze Pizza fundraiser, Stuyvesant Plaza.
You also can donate your deposit bottles to the cause. Drop off bottles at Capital Redemption Center, located at610 Clinton Ave. It’s open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m.-noon weekends. When you make the drop-off, please ask that proceeds be donated to the Albany Marching Falcons.
The mission of the City School District of Albany is to educate and prepare all students for college and career, citizenship and life, in partnership with our diverse community. The district serves approximately 9,500 students in 18 elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students, including four themed academies at Albany High School.
