- Falcons in the final Friday (TONIGHT) – Hudson Valley Community College hosts No. 1 seed Albany High and No. 2 seed Bethlehem in the Section 2 Class AA girls' basketball championships. Tipoff is 7:45 p.m. Go Falcons! Learn more.
- Musical opens next Thursday – The Theatre Ensemble will present four performances of "Sister Act" Thursday, March 9, Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m., with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. on March 12. Tickets are available at the door for $15 each for general admission, with student and senior tickets at $5 each. Learn more.
- Donations sought for play concession stand – The Theatre Ensemble is seeking donations of baked goods, snacks or bottled water to sell at the concession stand durng next week's performances of "Sister Act." If the goodies are homemade, please include a list of ingredients. You can drop them off by Thursday in the main office.
- Marching Falcons in two St. Patty's Day parades – The Albany Marching Falcons, the district's marching ensemble, will put on their collective Irish March 11 at two local St. Patrick's Day parades: The first is at noon in North Albany, starting and finishing at American Legion Post 1610 on North First Street. The second is the annual city parade, beginning at 2 p.m. at Central Avenue and Ontario Street and proceeding down Central to State Street, finishing by Broadway.
- All-City Concerts March 15, 22 and 29 – Experience performances by top orchestral, band and choral students from throughout the City School District of Albany perform in three concerts this month. Learn more.
- Time to apply for Summer Youth Employment Program – Attention students aged 14-18: The City of Albany is accepting applications through March 31 for the 2023 LIGHT Summer Youth Employment Program, which will run from July 10-Aug. 11. Youth employees will work up to 20 hours per week, earn $14.25 per hour and must meet all eligibility and orientation requirements to participate. Learn more.
- AP-IB exam deposit deadline extended – The due date for deposits on Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate exam fees has been extended to March 17. Not sure if you have an outstanding fee? Call Lisa Gruber or Janine Horan in the main office at (518) 475-6200 for help.
- Free spa services for 55+ – Cosmetology students are offering free salon services to any city residents aged 55 and up on Tuesdays and Thursdays through May. An appointment is required. Learn more.
- Mock Trial Team victorious – Congratulations to the members of the Mock Trial Team! They won their first competition Thursday night, defeating Catholic Central High School in the New York State bar Association’s 2023 High School Mock Trial Tournament. Learn more.
